Licensing Requirements of the
Colorado Real Estate Commission
Applicants for a Colorado Associate Broker Real Estate License are required to:
1. Provide a Certificate of Completion of Educational Requirements (REC-33) from a state ce rtified school (Empire Real Estate School).
2. Pass the Real Estate Commission’s Associate Broker’s written examination.
3. Have a completed fingerprint card and background check. (Forms provided at the school.)
4. Provide a written statement of explanation for any judgement for misdemeanor or felony or deferred judgement or sentence within the last 10 years (traffic violations are not considered).
5. Have a valid Social Security Number.
6. Affirm legal presence in the United States.
7. Be at least 18 years old.
