Licensing Requirements of the
Colorado Real Estate Commission
The Real Estate Commission requires the following to apply for a Colorado Associate Broker’s Real Estate License:
1. A Certificate of Completion of Educational Requirements from a state ce rtified school (Empire Real Estate School).
2. Pass the Real Estate Commission’s Associate Broker’s written examination.
3. Have a completed fingerprint card from the sheriff’s office and completed background check. (Forms provided at the school.)
4. Provide a written statement of explanation for any judgement for misdemeanor or felony or deferred judgement or sentence within the last 10 years (traffic violations are not considered).
5. The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
